South Africa Palm leaf and porcelain top
This peculiar art piece captures music in motion. The tilted female figure playing the violin is wrapped up in her song. The elongated dress shaped from a palm leaf adds to the violin player’s dance. Her porcelain fingers are poised on the instrument, in anticipation of the next note. This entire artwork feels like a piece of music, or a music note, paused in the break between notes.
