Francois Krige Etchings

Francois Krige

Unknown

Prints of etchings from lino-cuts

The carefully close-cropped portraits are another style associated with Francois Krige. In fact, most of the Krige’s in the 21 Nettleton Collection focuses on portraits and the human journey. The studies in these pencil etchings are all men. Even in these small etchings, he manages to capture very human emotions, particularly desperation. These etchings feature (in order from left to right) ‘Portrait of a pensive Fisherman’ and ‘Portrait of a man in a floppy hat’, amongst others.
